• Concentrate on Annie Duke

Annie Duke mightn’t have won her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most feared poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "young crowd" of poker go crazy after a huge win at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mommy" to her four kids. She was born in NH and was raised into a family of poker players. If you do not accept that, have a look at her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her how-to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has won her cut of challenging tables, including knocking out Howard along the way on numerous occasions.

Earning well over $3 million in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to develop his techniques to become a big player in poker.

You may catch Annie at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on the tv and you might even compete against her in a web-based poker match, but don’t bank on an easy win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
