• No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse comments from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
