Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative comments from other people kill his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
He began competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet.
